Maybe I should start with the fact that Montane is not a typical supplier for runners. Although the English company is dedicated to developing “innovative, lightweight, breathable clothing and equipment for endurance sports and activities in extreme environmental conditions”, the focus is certainly more on mountain sports than (trail) running. Nevertheless, even as a runner you can only benefit from the brand’s knowledge and experience in other areas.<\/p>\n

For comparison: from 10,000 g\/m2 one speaks of very good breathability. I could not complain about sufficient testing possibilities in the last weeks. There were mild days with light showers, but also heavy continuous rain. On the mild days, the breathability had to show if it was sufficient for sports. The numbers kept what they promised: the plastic bag effect did not occur and I never felt the need to take the jacket off during rain breaks. In addition, you can even use the breast pocket as a ventilation opening because it is made of an air-permeable mesh on the inside.<\/p>\n

I especially liked the very high cut “neck” of the jacket, because it reaches up to the nose when the zipper is closed. Together with the peak of the cap you are really well protected. I have never seen this done so well with any other jacket.<\/p>\n
Apart from that I had to realize that even with low drizzle potential I liked to take the Minimus jacket as a precautionary measure, where I usually like to get wet. This was certainly due to the really good fit of the Montane and the fact that it hardly rustles when running.<\/p>\n
