Soar has once again managed to surprise me with the new Nano Jacket. Without exaggeration, the rain jacket is the highlight of the collection and symbolizes exactly what Soar is all about for me.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n

We need to talk about the obvious first: this is a very expensive rain jacket. And if it’s just about keeping the rain out while running, there are certainly cheaper and still good alternatives. The Soar Nano Jacket, on the other hand, is designed to redefine what is possible and push the boundaries. It is nothing less than the latest masterpiece from a brand that combines innovation, function and design like no other.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The jacket is made from a membrane that is truly rainproof with a 10,000 mm water column and provides long-lasting protection. The challenge that Soar has faced is to make the material as breathable as possible at the same time – because these two factors virtually work against each other in a membrane like this. You either get good rain protection and poor breathability or vice versa. The masterpiece is a perfect balance in relation to the application profile.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Soar is not satisfied with this: functionality must also be right. Special attention has therefore been paid to the hood. Its fit has been further optimized and it can also be adjusted at the back of the head. When not in use, a practical press stud can be used to secure it in place.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Despite these refinements, the design of the jacket has remained very minimalist. The cuffs and the jacket hem have a stretch insert to optimize the fit. There is also a chest pocket with a zipper.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What is not immediately noticeable, but Tim emphasizes in the Designer’s Notes, is the overall improved cut of the Soar Nano Jacket – especially when it comes to the sleeves. Compared to the previous model, you can clearly see that the sealed seams are different.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Running Experience<\/h2>\n\n\n\n

When testing a rain jacket, I always look at two factors: is it really waterproof even in prolonged rain and is it breathable enough so that I’m not wetter on the inside than on the outside afterwards?<\/p>\n\n\n\n

A first indication is the inner climate during interval sessions – with or without rain. Good breathability also means that the jacket works so well that you want to wear it even in dry weather. And this is the case with the Soar Nano Jacket: I was just as happy to wear it as protection against the wind or as a light overjacket as I was as a rain jacket. The result was always the same on every training run: perfect protection and a perfect climate.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Of course, the Nano Jacket also gets slightly damp from the inside if the layer directly underneath is soaked with sweat. But what I didn’t experience at all was any accumulation of water in the sleeves or even the dreaded plastic bag effect.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

What’s more, the fit is really perfect! If you haven’t run in Soar clothing before, this is certainly difficult to grasp. It’s not just that nothing rustles, slips or disturbs you in any other way. The jacket simply works so perfectly that you completely forget about it while running – under any circumstances. And that is certainly the highest praise.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

For me, the Soar Nano Jacket is perfect in every respect - apart from the price. But if you want the absolute best product in terms of function and design, or need it for its function alone, you will hardly find a better rain jacket for runners. The successful symbiosis of function and design makes the Nano Jacket the absolute highlight of the entire Soar collection for me.<\/div><\/div>
