First Impressions

I don’t really like wearing tights – neither long nor short. But Soar has proved me wrong, because the fit and functionality are pretty much perfect for me. And the cargo tights are no exception.

The drawstring waistband and the silicone dots on the inside of the trousers contribute to the great fit. They keep the material in place. As you can see above, Soar has used them in the hip area in particular.

And that has to do with the cargo function of the tight. There are three stacked pockets on the back. A very long zip pocket on the innermost layer easily fits a modern smartphone – and more.

There is also a pass-through pocket with openings on the left and right that can hold a rain jacket, for example, if it is not needed at the moment.

In addition, there is a large pocket that is accessible from the top and is really spacious. You can store gloves, gels, a tube scarf and other things in it.

Running Experience

During my runs with the Soar Cargo Tights, the pockets were not always filled. Even without using the transport options, the tights simply work very well. At this price, it is certainly important to be able to use the tights universally. And that’s definitely the case here – also in terms of the temperature range: even in mild weather just below 10°C, I found the trousers very comfortable, which didn’t change until the temperature reached freezing point.

But I didn’t go easy on the cargo tights either and tried to push them to their limits. In the picture above, my mobile phone and car keys are in the zip pocket and a DJI Neo drone is in the large pocket. The photo was taken with the GoPro, which was otherwise also in the pouch.

With this extreme load, the lacing of the drawstring is of course particularly important. But overall, there was still nothing wrong with the fit of the tights: everything was securely accommodated and there was no bouncing! So the tights have no problem at all with a hat, gloves or gels.

Conclusion

Soar Cargo Tights
Does it all
The Soar Cargo Tights offer almost the volume of a small running pack, but place the load in a much more skilful position. This means that everything is easily accessible, safely stored and doesn't bounce around. Not to mention the excellent basic functionality in terms of fit and material. Opinions are certainly divided on the price.

Hi! It’s me, the Harlerunner.

This is where Thomas Pier writes about running and (much more than just the necessary) equipment. I don't run particularly fast or far. But I like to share my experiences as an ambitious recreational runner, curious early-adopter and as my own trainer.

I am happy about every digital contacting - but even more so about every kilometer run together.
