For my runs this winter, I looked at some Soar products that I hadn’t run with before – along with some old favorites.

Soar New Arrivals
Soar Long Run Shorts
In case you’re wondering why my winter list starts with shorts: as long as the temperatures don’t drop below freezing, I don’t necessarily need long tights.
However, the 17cm shorts from Soar are not really short and cover almost the entire thigh. The material is a little firmer than you are used to from other shorts and has been reworked for the current version – and in my opinion has been significantly improved.
In addition to two panels with ventilation holes, the shorts also feature a zipped pocket at the back.
Soar Winter Gloves and Race Gloves
Gloves are problematic for me: my large hands usually don’t fit comfortably and they’re usually not warm enough for me either. Of course, that’s bad if you get cold hands quickly…
That’s why I never took a closer look at the Soar gloves – which I now realize was a mistake. Because both versions fit me perfectly and are finally big enough! The Winter Gloves are thick enough for running in sub-zero temperatures. They have a wide cuff at the bottom, which also ensures that the cold doesn’t creep in so quickly.
The same applies to the Race Gloves, which are a little more minimalist. However, I don’t find them much less warm, which is certainly due to the comfortable fleece on the inside. The inserts between the fingers make them a little more breathable.
Soar Run Underwear
The merino wool underpants have also been available from Soar for a while now. As I’m actually quite happy with my (discounter) solution so far, I haven’t bought any yet. The Soar Run Underwear definitely has the advantage of being much softer and more snug. The high leg cut also reduces the risk of chafing.
Soar Merino Silk Neck Warmer
I also have a whole box full of tubes and wouldn’t have needed anything from Soar. However, their neck warmer has a slightly longer flap on one side, which should make it easier to protect the mouth and nose.
And lo and behold: this little design idea makes it noticeably more comfortable for me to wear the scarf like this because you don’t have to build up so much tension.
