The competition tight with an energy-absorbing super polymer not only supports the muscles while running, but is also designed to speed up recovery.

Rheon Marathon Speed Shorts
First Impression
Once again, this is a product that amazes even me as a die-hard Soar fan. Because the well-known and proven Marathon Speed Shorts have been given a polymer from the NASA laboratories to give them completely new properties.
The thighs are lined all round with a thin meander structure made of RHEON material. This polymer is normally soft and flexible, but absorbs energy under load and stiffens. With every step and the associated muscle tension, the RHEON structure creates a kind of compression effect, thereby supporting the muscles and preventing them from oscillating. When the thigh relaxes, the structure softens again.
In addition to this super technology, the RHEON Marathon Speed Shorts naturally have all the features of the ‘normal’ shorts: there are loops at the front of the waistband on the right and left, each of which can hold a gel for quick access during the race.
Hidden inside the waistband is a small key pocket that is protected against falling out. This is a good place to keep your car or room key during the race. The pocket also holds a debit card.
There is also a large elasticated pocket on the back of the shorts, which can be used to store additional gels or other equipment. I have already transported a mobile phone, a tube scarf and a bunch of keys here at the same time. In a race, however, the back pocket is more likely to be used for nutrition.
It remains to be said that the Marathon Speed Shorts really are a breath of nothing. The material is very thin, elasticated and incredibly breathable. You can basically see through the fabric structure on the thighs, while the critical area at the front and back is well protected by a dense fabric.
Running Experience
The RHEON Marathon Speed Shorts don’t feel unusual when you put them on. They are soft and very comfortable to wear. The RHEON structure is not even noticeable when walking.

I wore the shorts for the first time on a 5k time trial and expected to feel a compression effect under load. However, this does not occur in the usual way. You never have the feeling of being squeezed in any way. Nevertheless, you can clearly feel that the thighs move less – in the sense of swinging or vibrating.
The RHEON Marathon Speed Shorts also had to prove themselves at the half marathon in Enschede. Here I made full use of the transport options and of course also benefited from the RHEON technology. Together with the compression socks from CEP, I had much fresher legs than expected throughout the race. And even the next day, there was no complaining about tired legs, despite a near PB performance.
