With the Mighty 3, you can take Spotify or Amazon Music with you on your run – without an internet connection.

First Impression

I am not completely unfamiliar with the Mighty 3, as I have already tested one of its predecessors. Nothing has fundamentally changed in terms of functionality – but the technical details and battery capacity have.

The player, which is only about 4×4 centimeters in size, comes in a manageably sized package. The Quick Start guide basically tells you everything you need to know to operate it.

Because it’s really simple: a large play/pause button in the middle also switches the Mighty on and off. Right and left skip through the tracks, top and bottom change the volume. The burger button changes the playlist and can switch the shuffle function.

The Spotify player is charged via a USB cable that connects to the headphone jack. In addition to wired headphones, the Mighty 3 can of course also be connected to any Bluetooth headphones.

The Bluetooth connections and music accounts are managed via the associated Mighty app on the smartphone. This is where you select the playlists that will later be available offline on the Mighty.

The device can be attached to clothing using a clip on the back. The waistband is an ideal place to easily access the controls.

Running Experience

Even though running watches can now be used as music players, I find a dedicated device for this very practical. For example, I’m always afraid that I’ll accidentally end my session when using the music functions on the watch. That’s a bit of a drama during a race.

But the Mighty 3 has also often accompanied me during training. With over 8 hours of playtime, I’ve only had to charge it once in the last few weeks – otherwise I just clip it on and start running.

Conclusion

Mighty 3 – the Offline-Music-Player
Entertainment companion
The concept of the Mighty 3 works perfectly for me: my favorite playlists are always ready for running and the operation is much more pleasant than fiddling with the running watch.

Hi! It’s me, the Harlerunner.

This is where Thomas Pier writes about running and (much more than just the necessary) equipment. I don't run particularly fast or far. But I like to share my experiences as an ambitious recreational runner, curious early-adopter and as my own trainer.

I am happy about every digital contacting - but even more so about every kilometer run together.
