Soar Eco Tech T
The Eco Tech T has been my new standard shirt at Soar since last year. This year there are some new colors.
I find it super-comfortable to wear and the material very pleasant on the skin. It absorbs sweat well and wicks it away from the skin.
In addition, the Soar Eco Tech T is made from recycled yarns and is antibacterial. I use it almost all year round.
The Printed Tech T differs only slightly from the Eco Tech T. The material composition and weave structure is slightly different, but the printed shirt is also made from recycled yarn.
As the name suggests, the special feature lies more in the design. The printed motif is limited and therefore not available at any time.
But this makes no difference to the function: the Printed Tech T also fits perfectly, feels very good on the skin and can be worn very universally almost all year round.
The Split Shorts are new this season, but are of course based on many Soar standards. These include the airy waistband and the well-fitting inner shorts.
As their name suggests, the shorts are kept very short and have a pronounced side slit. This qualifies them not only for hot weather, but also for all particularly sweaty training sessions and competitions.
Accordingly, the back pocket is also optimised to carry only the bare essentials. But this is done with minimal bouncing.
The new Race Shorts go one step further than the Split Shorts. Everything about them is as minimal as it can be.
Instead of a real pocket in the back, the Race Shorts have two small inner pockets that can hold a car key and some small change, for example.
The cut is similarly short as the split shorts – but the material is even more airy and lighter. As far as: hardly noticeable.
For me, they are not only good for competitions, but also for all fast training sessions. But if you need to carry more (gels, etc.), you should take a look at the Soar Marathon Shorts.
I have to admit that I wasn’t particularly taken with the first version of this shirt (Sierra Half Zip). Back then, Tim had put pockets in the back.
The new Hot Weather Zip Top, on the other hand, is just brilliant for me: the material transports sweat so well that you always feel dry, even in a heat race. Nevertheless, a cooling effect can be felt.
In addition, you can still regulate via the long zip – although I almost think that this is more for the head.
The sleeves are slightly longer so that you can benefit from the sun protection of the shirt (UPF 30). For the same reason, the zip top has a minimal collar.
Conclusion
My highlight of this selection here is definitely the Hot Weather Zip Top. Its functionality feels like magic and it's definitely the first shirt I reach for on any hot summer day.
